An original photography work by Anne Katrine Senstad. The artist cut transparent film gels into varying geometric shapes and placed them on top of a light source, which she then arranged into lively compositions. “Soft Geometry - Faktura” is a series of works born from Senstad's land art, recurring pink bonds and stone wrapping works in 2015. It was part of her artist residency at The Marblehouse in Vermont, where Senstad measured and bound large slabs of marble stacked in a former Marble quarry to create sculptural intervention mapping and land sketches in the natural landscape. Working further with the concept, the final Soft Geometry works are informed by constructivism, geometry and Malevich's issue of Faktura, a concept relating to surface, the capacities and functions of the creative mind in relation to being one with one's discipline - fully fused with the object, as part of the Suprematist teachings, texts, aesthetics and philosophies. The resulting body of work integrates all aspects of the original land mass with the creative process itself, and the artists action and aesthetics.
