April Key

OLYMPIA ARCADE is inspired by the fun and colorful arcades most of us visited as children, with the aesthetic components developed into a contemporary sculpture format fitting with the ever growing Ocean Drive Collection - Limited edition of 7.

The Ocean Drive Collection is a limited series of glass neon sculptures, designed with April Key’s signature bold colors and unique style. This seven-piece collectable series draw upon the architectural emphasis of the Miami Art Deco era, taking it’s features and embedding those into each light piece to create a modern- retro futuristic cityscape.

The pieces are created at her workshop using traditional handblown glass neon techniques.

*Hand blown neon shows natural markings inside the glass over time. The collection is primarily constructed out of laser cut plexiglass, sprayed down to a matte white finish. The handmade glass neon, carefully blown by highly experienced ateliers in Istanbul, has a lifespan of up to 20 years, after which the transformer (power supply) can be replaced for continued use. Each piece is wired to be plugged into any grounded 3-prong US electrical outlet.

April Key is a British artist and designer, who has been based in Istanbul with her workshop since 2013. Her creations are focused on crossing the boundaries between art and design, aiming to invoke a special sensation to the observer resulting in a lasting impression. Her collection was first introduced at Milan Design Week 2019, and after resounding success has since exhibited at galleries and showrooms across Europe.
