Soft Geometry - Faktura is a series of works that were born from Anne Senstad's land art, reoccurring pink bonds and stone wrapping works in 2015 as part of her artist residency at The Marblehouse in Vermont, where Senstad measured and bound large slabs of marble stacked in a former Marble quarry to create sculptural intervention mapping and land sketches in the natural landscape.
Working further with the concept, the final works are informed by constructivism, geometry and Malevich's issue of "Faktura", a concept relating to surface, the capacities and functions of the creative mind in relation to being one with ones discipline - fully fused with the object, as part of the Suprematist teachings, texts, aesthetics and philosophies. The resulting body of work integrates all aspects of the original land mass with the creative process itself, and the artists action and aesthetics.
